Private power producer and Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group
company Reliance Power 's consolidated
net profit increased marginally to Rs 240 crore in the second quarter of
current financial year from Rs 235.5 crore in a year ago period.
Consolidated net sales rose by 121 percent year-on-year to
Rs 1,079.2 crore during the same quarter.
Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization
(EBITDA) went up by 227 percent Yoyo to Rs 393 crore in the quarter.
Other income declined significantly to Rs 102.2 crore in the
three months period ended September 2012 from Rs 263 crore in the corresponding
quarter of last fiscal.
Its 1,200 MW Rosa power plant in UP generated 1,655 million
units in the quarter as against 1,044 million units in a year ago period.
"The 40 MW Dhursar solar PV plant in Rajasthan
generated a record 13.8 million units in the September quarter, which resulted
in a net profit of Rs 6.6 crore," the company said.
Total costs nearly doubled to Rs 758 crore from Rs 397 crore
on year-on-year basis while finance costs increased to Rs 137 crore from Rs
75.32 crore.
At 14:21 hours IST, the stock gained 0.77 percent to Rs
98.05 on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
