India's largest telecom exporter Bharti Airtel has announced its results for the quarter ended September 2010. It has reported revenues at Rs 15,215 crore in Q2FY11 as against Rs 12,230.8 crore Q1FY11, a growth of 24.4% - which is slightly above expectations.
Net profit declined 1.23% to Rs 1,661 crore from Rs 1,681.6 crore (QoQ), which was below expectations. CNBC-TV18 expected net profit at Rs 1,869.11 crore and revenues at Rs 15,299.18 crore.
Earning before interest, depreciation, tax and amortisation (EBIDTA) declined to 33.7% versus 36.09% while expectation was at 35.26%.
The company has reported forex gain of Rs 249.2 crore as against forex loss of Rs 216 crore. Net loss in Africa reported at Rs 106.3 crore in Q2FY11 as against loss of Rs 70 crore in Q1FY11, up 51.86% (QoQ).
DTH EBIDTA loss stood at Rs 354.3 crore as against Rs 235.9 crore in Q1.
