Adani Power , a
subsidiary of Adani Enterprises, has reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 261
crore in the quarter ended September 2012 as against profit of Rs 173 crore in
a year ago period, mainly due to higher imported coal prices and non
availability of transmission line.
Consolidated total income rose 36.3 percent year-on-year to
Rs 1,502 crore during the quarter.
The company sold 4131 million units in the quarter as
against 2959 million units in the corresponding quarter of last fiscal.
During the quarter, Adani Power has commissioned one unit of
660 MW and 400 KV Tiroda-Warora Transmission Line by its subsidiary Adani Power
Maharashtra Limited.
The company expects to achieve the expansion of capacity
from current 4620 MW to nearly 10,000 MW by March 2013, company says in its
release.
