TCS Q2 net profit up 2.5% at Rs 2439 cr

India's largest software services exporter Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has reported a rise of 2.47% QoQ in net profit of Rs 2,439 crore for the quarter ended September 2011. The company had posted net profit of Rs 2,380.3 crore in the previous quarter.

Net revenues jumped 7.75% to Rs 11,633.5 crore from Rs 10,797 crore quarter-on-quarter.
Numbers came below estimates - CNBC-TV18 poll saw net profit at Rs 2450 crore and revenues at Rs 11,750 crore.

Net profit margins declined 107 basis points at 21% as against 22% quarter-on-quarter.
Operating profit rose 11.6% to Rs 3,154.3 crore during the same period. Operating margins went up 94 basis points at 27.1%.
