PSU OMCs trades higher ahead of EGoM meeting to discuss fuel prices

PSU oil marketing companies (OMCs) are trading higher ahead of empowered group of ministers (EGoM) meeting to be held in later today headed by finance minister Pranab Mukherjee to discuss fuel prices.

Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) is currently trading at Rs 635.00, up by 18.15 points or 2.94% from its previous closing of Rs 616.85 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs 631.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs 639.70 and Rs 631.00 respectively. So far 39,821 shares were traded on the counter.

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL) is currently trading at Rs 386.45, up by 16.70 points or 4.52% from its previous closing of Rs 369.75 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs 377.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs 390.90 and Rs 377.00 respectively. So far 1,68,470 shares were traded on the counter.

Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) is currently trading at Rs 336.80, up by 8.70 points or 2.65% from its previous closing of Rs 328.10 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs 333.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs 338.90 and Rs 333.00 respectively. So far 45,934 shares were traded on the counter.

A high level ministerial panel is going to meet to consider a hike in diesel and domestic LPG prices. A hike of Rs 2-3 per litre in diesel prices and an increase of at least Rs 25 per domestic LPG cylinder are on the EGoM agenda. It may also consider raising kerosene prices.
