1. INTRODUCTION TO LIBYA CRISIS:
Since Feb. 15 Libya has been rocked by an unprecedented movement to overthrow the regime of Muammar Gaddafi. At the helm of the North African nation for 42 years, the strongman is now struggling to retain his grip on power. The international community has almost unanimously decried the "bloodbath" inflicted on Libyans by government supporters.
2. MUAMMAR GADDAFI- LEADER OF LIBYANS:
During Muammar Gaddafi's 42-year rule, Libya has made great strides socially and economically thanks to its vast oil income, but tribes and clans continue to be part of the demographic landscape.
Women in Libya are free to work and to dress as they like, subject to family constraints. Life expectancy is in the seventies. And per capita income - while not as high as could be expected given Libya's oil wealth and relatively small population of 6.5m - is estimated at $12,000 (£9,000), according to the World BanK.
Illiteracy has been almost wiped out, as has homelessness - a chronic problem in the pre-Gaddafi era, where corrugated iron shacks dotted many urban centres around the country.
3. VIEWS OF MUAMMAR GADDAFI:
Libyan strongman Moamer Gadhafi on Tuesday warned of dire consequences for North Africa and Europe if there was any Western interference in his country's affairs, in a telephone conversation with the Greek prime minister."Greece is a friend of Libya and can pass on this piece of advice to the European Union.
4. RESPONSEABLE FACTOR:
Unlike the struggles for democracy in Tunisia and Egypt, the violence in Libya is sown by al Qaeda, Muammar Gaddafi has warned. Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi repeated his claim that al Qaeda was responsible for plunging the country into chaos and denied media reports of mass killings.
5. NO-FLY ZONE:
Libya's air force stepped up air strikes and heavy shelling was heard on Tuesday on the front line, as the revolt against Moamer Kadhafi's regime entered its third week amid mounting calls for a no-fly zone over the country. As the violence escalated, the Arab League said foreign ministers of its member states would meet on Saturday for crisis talks on the situation, a day later than originally announced.
6. SITUATION AFTER THE WAR IN LIBYA:
The more importantly The war in libya impacts the rates of crued oil. Higher the rates of crued oil, lesser would be the demad as well as the supply of it. A rebel making a count at the Zawiyah hospital said that at least 35 rebels and an unknown number of militia soldiers died in the fighting, with more than 60 rebels missing and more than 50 wounded. Among the dead, rebels said, was Col. Hussein Darbouk, a defected Libyan officer who had been commanding rebel forces in the town.I cannot describe the enormity of the violence they are committing against us,” one resident said in a telephone interview, with gunfire in the background.
7. CONCLUSION:
Libyan people are also the children of GOD so they also deserve to be Free to govern themselves and to be treated equally. Gaddafi’s chapter should come to an end now. Every humanbeings living on the earth should have a right to choose their own leader.
