GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare (GSKCH) today said its has registered 15% jump in net profit of Rs 82 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2011.
For the second quarter, the organization yielded a sales growth of 22% over 2010 which is 8% more growth than the same period in 2010. The company's net sales were at Rs 653 crore, with PBT growing by 14% to Rs 122 crore, a company statement said.
This growth has been equally supported by contribution from all regions, the release said.
Commenting on the results, Zubair Ahmed, MD, GSKCH said, "Despite challenging environment of rising commodity prices and high input costs, the company has posted excellent results." Sustained focus on distribution and cost optimization drive overall growth, he said.
GSKCH, an associate of GlaxoSmithKline plc of UK, a global science based healthcare company is the largest player in the health food drinks industry.
The company with its manufacturing plants located in Nabha, Rajahmundry and Sonepat has a total workforce of about 2900 people. It also has 550 wholesalers and direct coverage of over 6,40,000 retail outlets.
