SBI Bonds - 10 Years 9.75% & 15 Years 9.95%

State bank of India has come out with a public issue of their bonds (at a total of 100,000 million) where a 10 year coupon rate is 9.75% and 15 year coupon rate is 9.95%. These bonds will be available in DEMAT form only and will be listed on NSE & BSE so that an investor can sell them at any given point of time. Retail applications will be at a minimum of RS. 10,000 and a maximum of Rs. 500,000.

Interest on application will be subject to TDS if it exceeds the prescribe limit of Rs. 10,000 in any fiscal year. The basis of allocation will be on a first come first served basis on the date of application. No documents will be required while making the application and only DEMAT details will be required on the form.

We strongly suggest investors looking to create Fixed deposits in banks to consider this option.
